How/where do I pick up my race number for all races?
Packet pick up will take place June 26, at The Keauhou Beach Resort from 10 am - 5 pm. There is no registration on race day for the Marathon or 1/2 Marathon, but you can pick up your race number starting at 4:30 am. The 10K and 5K can register on Race Day morning.

How do I get my finisher and course photos?
Photos can be found at: www.hawaiiphotoman.com

How do I get my Finishers Shirt?
Finishers shirts will be available after the race at the Finishers shirts tent. Shirts will not
be mailed. It is up to you to pick up your Finisher shirt.

What replenishment fluid is availble on the course?
Kona Marathon proudly endorses Ultima Replenisher for on course and training replenishment.This year's flavor will be Lemonade.

Is there Energy Gel available at aid stations?
There is one GU Energy Gel station on the marathon course which you will pass twice on the out and back course at mile marks 10.5 and 15.5.

How many aid stations are there?
Aid stations are located every 1 to 1.5 miles. There are 20 aid stations along the course.
For the Half Marathon, there are 11 aid stations along the course. Available at all stations
is water, Ultima Replenisher. Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and ice. See the Course Map for more details.

Are there restrooms along the course?
Yes. There are restrooms or luas at or next to every aid station.

How hilly is the course?
The course is relatively flat, never exceeding 120 feet above sea level with gentle climbs and drops. See the Elevation Chart for more details.

What will the weather be like?
It will be warm. Temperatures at the start will likely be between 70-80 degrees Farenheit, (21-26 Celsius). Remember to hydrate properly for our tropical climate, especially the day before the race. This means some kind of electrolyte replacement drink, not just water. Winds are generally very light in Kona rarely exceeding 15mph, (24kph) and we've rarely
had a rainy day for the Kona Marathon. Temperatures can climb into the upper 80's during midday, add the humidity and It can make it feel even warmer.

What is the Marathon cutoff time?
The marathon course will close nine hours after the start of the race. This will give any trained entrant the chance to finish, even if you plan to walk.

Are there finisher medals?
All Marathon & Half Marathon finishers will receive finisher medals.

What are the start times?
Marathon-5:30am, Half Marathon-6:00am, 10K-6:45am, 5K-6:50am

Can I wear my race number on my back or side?
Race numbers must be worn on front of the body and visible at all times. This is for liability reasons, timing and photography purposes. Numbers can be worn on the side or back only if you are going to run sideways or backwards. Make sure that the number is placed on a garment that is not going to be removed when the day warms up.

Can I wear head phones?
No, Head phones are not allowed on the course.

What if I decide to do a different distance?
If you decide to change races, you have to get a new number for the new distance. Otherwise all the race results will be wrong.

Once I finish, can I go back and run in with my friend?
No, If you cross the finish line again, you will be given the slower time.

Can a friend or family member cross the finish line with me?
No, the finish line area is restricted to athletes who are finishing their race.

What kind of surface is the race run on?
The race is run on asphalt roads.

When are the award ceremonies?
The 5K & 10K will be at 9:00 am, the half marathon will be at 10:00 am and the Marathon
will be held at 10:30am.
